Student Uses Photos to Convey Ideas About University Life

Mi Boshi is a college student in Xi'an Eurasia University. His handle "Coin-2006"is known to users of "Dingge" app. A culture and media major, he has enjoyed the opportunity to study photography and cinematography during his college years. He likes taking photos and uses them to convey ideas. He remembers practising photography with his friends till late at night when he was still a green hand in the use of SLRs (single lens reflex cameras).

His hobby provides him with relaxation and amusement. Mi once feared that no one would understand him – instead, his hobby has brought him together with others who share similar ideas, and allowed him to make friends with them. He is happy at the prospect of meeting like-minded people through his hobby.

Mi likes capturing the creative ideas behind other people's photos, and adds these ideas to his own pictures. The snapshots taken when he is relaxed are his most pleasant surprises. One photo may make him feel so happy that he lies awake all night. Now, he may feel dissatisfied with pictures he took in the past. However, he has still posted these photos online - they are faithful records of his career, and they were his favorites at the time.

He sees photography as a vocation. He does not plan to strive to become a professional photographer, for fear that he will sacrifice his principles for the sake of his career. He will reserve a pure land in his heart for his hobby, and express his true ideas and feelings through his photos.

Since the Dingge app went online, it has become clear that the photography of a great number of young people is different from traditional photography. The photography of young people shows that they are different and willing to embrace creative thinking outside the box. They define their young lives through their pictures.(Photo/cnwest.cn)
