INTRODUCTION TO SOUTH CHINA UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY
South China University of Technology (SCUT) is one of the China's leading universities. It operates under the direct leadership of the State Ministry of Education; it is also a member of "Project 985" and "Project 211" which qualifies it as a top institution in teaching and research. A. English-Medium International Foundation Program
Program Overview
The International Foundation Program offered by South China University of Technology (SCUT) is designed to prepare international students to operate in a university setting by familiarizing them with the requirements for a successful 4 years as an undergraduate. The program is designed for students who do not meet the minimum requirements for direct entry into SCUT's undergraduate programs.
Main Courses:
Mathematics, Physics, Academic English, Chinese, Introduction to Chinese Culture, Business Management, Computer Science Overview etc.
Why This Program?
- All courses will be conducted in English by SCUT lecturers and experienced English-speaking lecturers. A Chinese language course will be also arranged during the course of study;
- Students will be guaranteed admission to English-taught degree programs at SCUT if they successfully complete the program. Students can also apply for Chinese-taught degree programs if they meet the basic Chinese language requirements.
- Upon successful completion of the program, you will be awarded a certificate recognized by other higher institutions.

Entry Requirements
- Applicants are required to have an O-level qualification or equivalent.
- Qualifications from all countries are considered; applicants must demonstrate competence in English by meeting SCUT's minimum English language requirements:
- TOEFL 152 (Computer-based test) or 470 (paper-based test) or IELTS 5.0 or Evidence of English ability equivalent to any of the above.

(1) “O-Level” Certi cate and results, or a letter from your current school which shows that you have successfully completed two years of high school.
(2) English test results: Applicants from non-English speaking countries are required to submit a TOEFL score of 68/190/520 or IELTS 5.0, or pass SCUT’s placement test.

1. Computer Science and Technology (Program Code: 080605)
Program Overview:
This program is one of SCUT’s top programs, aiming to cultivate international talents with a comprehensive knowledge of computer technology, creativity, and the ability to conduct academic research. Specialized courses, such as ‘MultiMedia Technology’ and ‘Artificial Intelligence’ will be arranged during the program. Graduates are capable of working in industrial organizations, research departments, computer hardware/software development organizations, governmental departments, and contributing to the areas of computing research, engineering development, etc.

2. International Economics and Trade (Program Code: 020102)
Program Overview:
This program aims to educate international students with a theoretical knowledge of economics and management, a good command of the theories and skills of international trade, strong computer application skills and bilingual communication. Graduates are demanded in fields of international business and economics, multinational enterprises, and governmental departments of economics.

3. Civil Engineering
Program Overview
This program is designed to cultivate the talents with profound theoretical knowledge, creativity, and multicultural communication skills to meet the increasing demand of domestic and Pearl River Delta area for civil engineers.
The program is positioned as a national leading program which caters the economic development of south China, Hong Kong, Macau and South East Asia, and is geared to the operation mechanism of international civil engineering industry.

4. Environmental Engineering
Program Overview:
The undergraduate major in Environmental Engineering aims to prepare students capability of engineered application based on solid theoretical knowledge, to improve students professional capability during research-based projects and/or industry-based projects. This major has specialties on engineering of water treatment, engineering of air pollution control, solid waste disposal and recycling, and biological technology.

1. English-medium Master Program in Electrical and Computer Engineering
Program Objective
The objective of this program is to equip graduates, who seek a career in the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), with in-depth knowledge in signal processing and control techniques for the design and development of electrical and computer control systems, both from software and hardware aspects. Admission Requirements
- Bachelor's degree holder with the ability to pursue research in the candidate's proposed field of advanced study.

Credit Requirement
Candidates are required to earn at least 28 credits for graduate, and attend a number of graduate level courses including public compulsory course, professional compulsory course, selective courses etc, as well as the participation in a practice project in digital systems or automation.
Practice
Candidates have to undergo a practice project including specification analysis, system design, simulation, implementation as well as system debugging, with the purposes of enabling them to learn the life-cycle of system design and development, and to apply their knowledge from course to solve the practical problems. A supervisor will be appointed to each candidate. The project lasts 3-4 weeks.
Dissertation
Upon the completion of the research project, the candidate is required to submit a thesis on his/her research for examination. The topic should have clear industrial or research background and obvious application values.
Degree
Candidates who complete coursework and pass oral defense will earn a master’s graduate diploma. A master’s degree will be granted after the approval by the Degree Assessment Committee.
2. MBA Program
Program Overview
South China University of Technology (SCUT) is one of China’s leading research-intensive universities, ranked in the top 10 of technology-based universities in China. Degree Awarded
