The list of top nine most nurturing and calming cities in China has been released by Minsheng Weekly. The list includes Qingdao, Dalian, Haikou, Suzhou, Xiamen, Kunming, Yangzhou, Chengdu and Zhuhai for various reasons.
According to the magazine, a pleasant climate, beautiful environment and a rich variety of local snacks are the primary conditions for which the cities made the list below.

No.1 Qingdao
Qingdao wins the champion spot with its numerous historic sites and maritime climate. Nicknamed the City of Islands, the sceneries there are abundant and exquisite.
No.2 Haikou
No.2 Haikou
Haikou came in at a very close second place for its seaside landscape and an average annual temperature of 24.2 ℃.
No.3 Suzhou
Suzhou, an ancient city on the Yangtze River known for its gardens, stunning traditional architecture, was listed as the bronze medal winner.
No.4 Dalian
Dalian, the 4th one on the list, lies in the warm temperate zone in north China, with maritime features offering visitors a warm temperate continental monsoon-like climate.
No.5 Xiamen
Xiamen is one of the most famous coastal cities in China, and was selected to be number 5 among the top nine nurturing cities. Its unique cuisine, along with abundant local seafood, helps the city emerge from many others.
No.6 Kunming
Kunming is where spring seems to hold on and never leave for the entire year, giving it a characteristic environment and earning it the sixth position. Crystal plateau lakes scattering over the city provide the ideal humid climate. It's relatively spring-like all year round, being neither extremely cold in winter nor too hot in summer with an annual average temperature not exceeding 14.5 ℃. The city is also well-known for its biodiversity and ethnic diversity.
No.7 Yangzhou
Yangzhou, the birthplace of Huaiyang Cuisine, ranked seventh for its special catering culture which represents the essence of Chinese traditional dietary conception.
No.8 Chengdu
Chengdu obtains the eighth place prize not only through its distinctive local snack street, but it is precisely the small-town atmosphere and slow pace of life that appeal to the tourists.
No.9 Zhuhai
Zhuhai rounded out the top nine cities because of its inviting display of harmony between oceanic and terrestrial sites.
