On June 27th, international students’ graduation and degree awarding ceremony was held at Wuhan University. “We come from different parts of the world.” quoted from a video clip in memory of life in Wuhan University, “It is fate that turns us from strangers to friends and our friendship may last forever!”
There are 516 international students (including non-degree students) from 77 countries successfully completed their studies this year, 209 of who from more than 20 different colleges and departments obtained a degree.
Executive President Feng Youmei delivered a speech at the ceremony, hoping those international students who have achieved academic success will serve their home countries better when they come back to motherland. She also wished students become bridges of friendship linking China and their own country.
Chen Lin, an international student from Kazakhstan, is a graduate majored in International Economics and Trade of Economics and Management School. On behalf of international graduates, she said: “When I first came to Wuhan University four years ago, Wuhan has become my second hometown. How can one forget his own home? I thank Wuhan University for giving me the chance to pursue my dream. WHU is the home of ours.”
Later, students and their teachers took photos together and wrote bilingual messages on memorial board. These activities symbolized a perfect ending of these international students’ study and life in Wuhan University.
